Allow negative budget categories to carry over multiple months

Currently, when a budget category goes negative (overspent), the deficit is limited to a single month and does not roll forward into subsequent months. Users want the ability to have negative budget balances extend beyond one month – similar to how positive rollover budgets carry a surplus forward. This would give a more accurate picture […]

Privacy screen when switching apps or returning from background

When switching between apps or returning to Piere after it has been left open in the background, the app should display a privacy screen (e.g. a blurred or opaque overlay) to prevent sensitive financial information from being visible in the app switcher or to bystanders. This is a common privacy feature in banking and finance […]

Resizable / customizable dashboard widgets

Allow users to resize or customize the size and layout of widgets on the Piere dashboard – for example, making the net worth card smaller so more information fits on screen at once. This would give users more control over their dashboard experience and let them prioritize the data that matters most to them.

Quick accounts overview on the dashboard or sidebar

It would be helpful to have a way to view all connected accounts at a glance – either as a widget or section on the main dashboard, or as a dedicated entry in the sidebar navigation. This would allow users to quickly check balances across all their accounts without navigating away from the main view. […]

Option to disable the chat/AI bot on the opening screen

Allow users to toggle off the chat/AI bot that appears on the app’s opening or splash screen. Some users prefer a cleaner launch experience without the bot prompt. A simple toggle in Settings would give users control over whether this feature is shown at startup.

Default transactions to budgeted categories only

When transactions are automatically categorized, it would be helpful to have an option to restrict auto-categorization to only categories that have an active budget set up. This would prevent transactions from landing in unbudgeted categories by default, increasing the likelihood that they are correctly categorized from the start and reducing the amount of manual re-categorization […]

Drag and drop transactions into categories

Allow users to categorize transactions by dragging and dropping them directly into the desired category. This would provide a faster, more intuitive way to organize transactions compared to the current tap/click-to-edit flow – especially useful when reviewing multiple transactions at once. A drag-and-drop interface would make bulk categorization feel more natural and reduce the number […]

Bring back widgets and dashboard menu navigation instead of AI home screen

Some users prefer the previous home screen experience – with widgets displayed on the dashboard and the main menu accessible directly from the home screen – over the current AI-driven home screen. This request is to offer an option (or revert) to the widget-based home screen layout with dashboard-level menu access, giving users more control […]

Granular investment account classification (Brokerage, Retirement, asset type breakdown)

Currently, investment accounts are classified broadly using asset-type labels like “US Stocks”, “International Stocks”, and “Bonds”. Many users would prefer account-level classifications such as “Brokerage”, “Other”, and “Retirement” to better understand the purpose and structure of their holdings at a glance. Additionally, target-date funds (e.g., TDF 2055) are displayed as a single line item. It […]

Rollover budgets should update when transactions are edited after month-end

Currently, rollover budget calculations are finalized at month-end and do not reflect edits made to transactions after the month has closed (such as recategorization or amount corrections). This means the carried-over balance can be inaccurate if any transactions are changed retroactively. The request is for rollover budgets to dynamically recalculate whenever a past transaction is […]

Apply budget category changes retroactively across all months

When a user edits or recategorizes a budget category, the change currently only applies to the month in which the edit is made. There is no way to apply the updated category to past months without manually editing each one. This request is for a “Recalculate Budget” option (or similar) that would allow users to […]

Home screen widget showing current Savings tracking amount

A small home screen widget (e.g., a 4-box/small size) that displays the current Savings tracking amount from the budget. This would let users quickly check how much they are on track to save for the month without needing to open the app and navigate to the budget screen.

Savings calculation should account for unbudgeted transactions and budget overages

Currently, the Savings figure in the budget appears to be calculated as: Income minus Planned Expenses. This means unbudgeted transactions (spending that falls outside any budget category) and overages on existing budget categories do not reduce the Savings total, making it an inaccurate picture of how much is actually left at the end of the […]

Delete individual transactions

Allow users to permanently delete individual transactions from their transaction history. This would be useful for removing erroneous, duplicate, or unwanted entries that shouldn’t be part of a user’s financial records. Currently, transactions can be edited or excluded from budgets, but there is no way to fully remove them from the app.

Support for PSEG (utility bill) account connection

Users would like the ability to connect their PSEG utility account to Piere so that utility bill payments and balances can be tracked alongside their other financial accounts. Adding support for utility providers like PSEG would give users a more complete picture of their recurring expenses and overall financial health.

Widget background refresh for transactions

Allow Piere home screen widgets to refresh transaction data in the background, so that the latest transactions are visible without needing to open the app. Currently, widgets do not update automatically, meaning the data shown can be stale until the app is manually launched. Background refresh support would make widgets significantly more useful for users […]

Backdate manually added accounts to reflect historical net worth

When a user adds a manual account (such as an IRA or investment account) that they’ve held for years, Piere currently shows the account as starting on the date it was added. This causes a misleading spike in net worth history, rather than a smooth curve reflecting the account’s actual long-term value. The request is […]

Bulk/batch transaction import from CSV or spreadsheet

Allow users to import historical transactions in bulk by uploading a CSV or spreadsheet file. This is especially useful when switching between data providers (e.g., from MX to Plaid) where the new provider only retrieves a limited history window, leaving a gap in older transaction data. Users who have downloaded or reformatted their historical transactions […]

Support for Alight Retirement – AIG employer portal

Users with retirement accounts managed through Alight Retirement for AIG are unable to connect their accounts because the AIG-specific Alight portal URL (https://worklife.alight.com/ah-angular-afirst-web/#/web/aig/login) is not currently supported. Alight Retirement operates employer-specific URLs for different companies, and the AIG version is not listed as a supported institution. Adding support for this URL would allow AIG employees […]

Net worth drill-down – see the data behind the calculation

When viewing your net worth in Piere, it would be useful to be able to tap or click into the total to see a breakdown of which accounts and balances are contributing to the calculation. This would make it easier to spot anomalies (like a duplicated account inflating the number), verify accuracy, and understand exactly […]

Smarter budget alert messaging for income category overages

When a user’s income budget category is exceeded, the current notification message says “Adjust other categories in your budget to still end the month under budget.” This phrasing doesn’t make sense for income – exceeding an income budget is a positive event (you earned more than expected), not a spending problem. A smarter alert for […]

Annual spending total by category

It would be useful to see a grand total of spending per category across a full year (or custom date range), not just month by month. This would help users understand their annual spending habits at a glance and make it easier to plan budgets for the following year. Currently, the “Transactions by Category” view […]

Edit manually added loan details after submission

When a loan is manually added to Piere, users should be able to edit the loan details after initial submission – including fields like the minimum payment amount. Currently, once a manual loan is submitted, certain details (such as minimum payment) cannot be updated, leaving users unable to keep their loan information accurate over time. […]

Auto-accept or dismiss budget-excluded transactions from the review stack

When transactions are excluded from the budget (e.g. investment account activity, robo-advisor transfers), they still appear in the transaction review stack, requiring users to manually dismiss them one by one. It would be useful to have a way to auto-accept or bulk-dismiss these excluded transactions so that the review queue only surfaces transactions the user […]

Ability to include any account type in the dashboard Savings total

Users would like the ability to manually designate which accounts contribute to the “Savings” total displayed on the dashboard, regardless of account type. For example, a checking account used primarily for saving (such as an investment app’s cash account) would ideally count toward the Savings figure. Currently, only accounts classified as Savings under Banking contribute […]

Manual control over which accounts are targeted in Moves goals

When setting up a Move with a goal like “pay off high interest credit cards,” users would like the ability to manually select which specific accounts or cards are targeted – rather than having Piere choose automatically. This would give users more transparency and control over how their money is directed, especially when the app’s […]

Manually adjust rollover budget amounts

Allow users to manually edit the rolled-over amount on rollover budget categories. Currently, rollover budgets automatically carry forward the surplus or deficit from the previous month, but there is no way to override or manually set the rollover amount. An edit option (e.g., a pencil icon on the budget category detail screen) would let users […]

Click budget category amount directly to edit (inline editing)

On the budget tab in the web/browser version, clicking on a category’s monthly allowance amount currently navigates to the monthly view for that category. It would be more intuitive if clicking the number directly opened an inline edit field to adjust the monthly allowance – similar to how spreadsheets work. This would save users from […]

More frequent institution data syncing

Some users find that their connected institution data is not refreshed frequently enough, with balances and transactions sometimes being days or weeks out of date. Increasing the frequency of automatic syncing – or offering an on-demand refresh option – would help users stay on top of their finances in real time and make Piere’s data […]

Seamless migration between data providers (Plaid/MX) without losing account history

When switching a bank connection from one data provider to another (e.g., from MX to Plaid), closed accounts and their transaction history that cannot be automatically mapped to the new connection are currently at risk of being lost or orphaned. Users who want to switch providers for reliability reasons are blocked from doing so because […]
