When a budget amount is changed, the update currently applies retroactively to all past periods. It would be useful to have budget amounts locked to the period they were set in, so users can see what their budget was at any given point in time and whether they were within budget based on the original amount – not the current one. This would enable better historical budget tracking and help users understand how their spending compared to their budgets as they were set at the time.
