Multiple households / separate account spaces

Allow users to create and manage multiple households or separate account spaces within a single Piere login. This would enable users to keep different sets of accounts (e.g., personal vs. business, or separate financial entities) fully isolated from one another — with separate transaction histories, budgets, and net worth tracking — without needing to create […]

Allow adding new accounts under same login

Currently if I get a new credit card from the same institution that is already connect to piere I cannot add it to Piere without connecting to the institution again as a new connection. We should be able to just refresh the institution to add new accounts under the same login. More discussion about this […]

Allow email address as a login option

Currently, Piere requires users to log in with their phone number and password. It would be useful to also support logging in with an email address, giving users the flexibility to choose their preferred credential. This would improve accessibility for users who prefer email-based authentication or who have trouble remembering which phone number is associated […]

Move profile, logout, and account controls to the top-right of the web app

On the Piere web/desktop app, the profile icon and account controls (including logout) are currently located at the bottom of the sidebar. Most web applications follow the convention of placing these controls in the top-right corner of the screen, which is where users instinctively look for them. Moving the profile menu, logout button, and related […]

Alphabetical sorting for merchant filter in Transactions screen

When filtering transactions by merchant in the Transactions screen, the list of available merchants should be displayed in alphabetical order. Currently the list has no apparent sorting, making it difficult to locate a specific merchant – especially for users with a large number of merchants. Alphabetical sorting would make the filter much easier to use.

Ability to include any account type in the dashboard Savings total

Users would like the ability to manually designate which accounts contribute to the “Savings” total displayed on the dashboard, regardless of account type. For example, a checking account used primarily for saving (such as an investment app’s cash account) would ideally count toward the Savings figure. Currently, only accounts classified as Savings under Banking contribute […]

Manual control over which accounts are targeted in Moves goals

When setting up a Move with a goal like “pay off high interest credit cards,” users would like the ability to manually select which specific accounts or cards are targeted – rather than having Piere choose automatically. This would give users more transparency and control over how their money is directed, especially when the app’s […]

Mark accounts as closed without removing them

Users would like the ability to mark an account as “closed” to indicate it is no longer active, without fully removing it from Piere. This would allow closed accounts to remain visible for historical reference (e.g., past transactions, net worth history) while being clearly distinguished from active accounts in the UI. This is especially useful […]

Filter or exclude categories and tags from reports

It would be useful to be able to exclude specific categories or tags from reports. For example, a user might want to create a report showing only discretionary spending by hiding a “Bills” category, or exclude transactions tagged as “travel” (funded from sinking funds) to get a cleaner view of their regular monthly budget. This […]

Year-to-date (YTD) filter with running income and expense totals

Allow users to filter their financial data by year-to-date (YTD) and view a running total of income vs. expenses across that period – not just a month-by-month breakdown. This would give users a clearer picture of their overall financial progress throughout the year and complement the existing monthly view.

Apply transaction category rules retroactively to past transactions

When setting up a transaction categorization rule (e.g., “always categorize this vendor as Groceries”), users would like the option to apply that rule retroactively to all existing transactions from the same vendor – not just future ones. This would save significant time when a vendor has many historical transactions that need to be recategorized, and […]

Manually adjust rollover budget amounts

Allow users to manually edit the rolled-over amount on rollover budget categories. Currently, rollover budgets automatically carry forward the surplus or deficit from the previous month, but there is no way to override or manually set the rollover amount. An edit option (e.g., a pencil icon on the budget category detail screen) would let users […]

Preserve historical budget amounts by period

When a budget amount is changed, the update currently applies retroactively to all past periods. It would be useful to have budget amounts locked to the period they were set in, so users can see what their budget was at any given point in time and whether they were within budget based on the original […]

Click budget category amount directly to edit (inline editing)

On the budget tab in the web/browser version, clicking on a category’s monthly allowance amount currently navigates to the monthly view for that category. It would be more intuitive if clicking the number directly opened an inline edit field to adjust the monthly allowance – similar to how spreadsheets work. This would save users from […]

More frequent institution data syncing

Some users find that their connected institution data is not refreshed frequently enough, with balances and transactions sometimes being days or weeks out of date. Increasing the frequency of automatic syncing – or offering an on-demand refresh option – would help users stay on top of their finances in real time and make Piere’s data […]

Trends – Remember filter criteria between sessions

When using the Trends feature, the selected filters and criteria (such as date range, categories, or accounts) are reset each time the user navigates away or reopens the app. It would be much more convenient if Piere saved the last-used Trends settings so users don’t have to reconfigure them on every visit. This would make […]

Cash advance feature

Users are requesting the ability to access cash advances directly through Piere. This would allow users to get short-term funds against their upcoming income or account balances, helping them manage cash flow gaps without leaving the app. Adding a cash advance feature would expand Piere’s value as an all-in-one personal finance tool.

Seamless migration between data providers (Plaid/MX) without losing account history

When switching a bank connection from one data provider to another (e.g., from MX to Plaid), closed accounts and their transaction history that cannot be automatically mapped to the new connection are currently at risk of being lost or orphaned. Users who want to switch providers for reliability reasons are blocked from doing so because […]

Confirmation dialog or undo option for "Apply to All" transaction categorization

When applying a category or transaction rule to all matching transactions at once, the action currently takes effect immediately with no confirmation step or way to undo it. This can result in a large number of transactions being miscategorized if the button is pressed accidentally. It would be very helpful to either: – Show a […]

Monthly investment summary – track total invested vs. target each month

It would be useful to have a dashboard or report section dedicated to investment activity, showing: – Total amount invested each month (across all investment accounts) – A configurable monthly investment target – A clear indicator of whether the target was met for each month This would help users stay on track with their investing […]

Reviewed vs. Unreviewed transaction filter (Web)

Users would like the ability to filter transactions by “Reviewed” vs. “Unreviewed” status on the Piere web app. This would make it easier to track which transactions have already been categorized or checked, and quickly identify ones that still need attention. This is especially useful for web users who regularly audit their spending and want […]

Connect accounts via routing and account number (for unsupported institutions)

Some banks and financial services (e.g. CashApp, certain payroll providers) are not currently supported through Plaid or MX. Users would like the ability to connect their accounts by entering their routing and account numbers directly, so they can track deposits and transactions from these institutions without relying on an automated connection. This would be especially […]

Biometric authentication (Face ID / Fingerprint) for app login

Allow users to log in to Piere using biometric authentication such as Face ID or fingerprint (Touch ID) on supported devices. This would provide a faster, more convenient, and more secure login experience without requiring users to enter their password each time they open the app. Supporting both iOS (Face ID / Touch ID) and […]

Replace predefined budget categories with custom categories

Currently, when a user creates a custom budget category, there is no way to replace or substitute a predefined budget category with it in the budget area (where monthly budget amounts are assigned). Users are stuck with the predefined categories and cannot swap them out for their own custom ones. It would be helpful to […]

Support for embedded bank accounts within brokerage connections (e.g. Morgan Stanley Private Bank via E*TRADE)

Some financial institutions offer embedded or linked bank accounts within a brokerage platform – for example, Morgan Stanley Private Bank is accessible through the E*TRADE login with no separate credentials. Currently, when connecting E*TRADE in Piere, only the brokerage account is imported; the embedded bank account is not surfaced. It would be helpful if Piere […]

Support for Morgan Stanley Private Bank (linked to E*Trade)

Users with E*Trade brokerage accounts often have an associated Morgan Stanley Private Bank account (accessible via us.etrade.com). Currently, this banking account cannot be connected to Piere. It would be helpful to support syncing the Morgan Stanley Private Bank account – including balances and transactions – especially for users who already track their E*Trade brokerage accounts. […]

Face ID / biometric login on app open

Users would like to be able to open the Piere app and authenticate directly via Face ID (or Touch ID / biometric) without any additional steps – just tap the app icon and scan. Currently, the login process requires more steps than users expect. A streamlined biometric-first login experience would improve convenience and reduce friction […]

Ability to merge or combine duplicate accounts

When a loan or account is transferred or sold to a different servicer, it can appear as two separate accounts in Piere – one for the old servicer and one for the new one. Users would benefit from being able to merge or combine these two accounts into a single unified account, preserving the full […]

Dynamic vertical axis scaling on the Net Worth chart

The Net Worth line chart should dynamically adjust its vertical (Y) axis based on the range of values being displayed. Currently, the axis appears to use a fixed scale, which means small but meaningful changes in net worth appear as only a few pixels of movement — making it difficult to spot trends or gauge […]

Rollover budget: keep category "under budget" color when cumulative balance is within range

When using rollover budgeting, category colors should reflect the cumulative (rolled-over) balance rather than just the monthly allocation. Currently, if a category exceeds its monthly limit in a given month, it displays as “over budget” (red) even when the accumulated rollover from prior months means the overall balance is still within the budget target. The […]
