How to Edit Your Net Worth Balances

What is Edit Net Worth? #

Your net worth chart is built from data synced automatically from your connected accounts. Occasionally that data can be off — due to a delayed sync, an incorrect balance from your institution, or an account that doesn’t update in real time. Edit Net Worth lets you correct any of those balances manually, for any date in your history, so your net worth chart always reflects reality.

How to enter Edit Mode #

  1. Open the Net Worth screen.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top-right corner of the chart.
  3. Tap Edit History.

The screen will switch to Edit Mode: the header changes to Editing Net Worth and the chart cursor snaps to the most recent data point. The assets and liabilities summary cards are temporarily hidden while you edit.

Selecting a date #

Drag your finger across the chart to move the cursor to any historical date. The account list below the chart updates automatically to show the balance recorded for each account on that date. When you lift your finger, the cursor stays in place so you can review the balances before editing.

Editing an account balance #

  1. With the cursor on the date you want to correct, find the account in the list below the chart.
  2. Tap the pencil icon on that account row. The Edit Balance sheet will open, showing the account name, the date, and the current recorded balance.
  3. Tap the balance field and type the correct amount.
  4. Tap Save Balance. You’ll see a “Balance saved” confirmation and the account list will refresh with your updated value.

Reverting a manual edit #

If you’ve previously saved a manual balance for an account and want to restore the original synced value:

  1. Navigate the cursor to the date that was manually edited.
  2. Tap the pencil icon on that account.
  3. Tap Revert. The manually entered value is deleted and the original balance is restored.

The Revert button appears automatically when you open the Edit Balance sheet for an account that already has a manual override saved.

Exiting Edit Mode #

Tap the back arrow in the header to exit Edit Mode. The chart returns to its normal view, the assets and liabilities cards reappear, and any balances you saved are reflected in the updated chart.

Things to know #

  • Changes are saved to your account — manual overrides persist across sessions. They will still be there the next time you open the app.
  • Account filters are respected — if you have account filters active on the Net Worth screen, Edit Mode will only show those same filtered accounts.
  • One account at a time — edits are made one account per date at a time. Bulk editing across multiple accounts simultaneously is not currently supported.
  • Available to all users — Edit Net Worth is available on all Piere plans.
