What are Piere Widgets? #
Piere Widgets let you see your financial snapshot directly on your iPhone or Android home screen — no need to open the app. At a glance, you can check your net worth, review recent transactions, and track your budget. You can even mark transactions as reviewed right from the widget.

How to Add a Widget #
On iPhone #
- Long-press an empty area on your home screen until icons start jiggling.
- Tap the + button in the top-left corner.
- Search for Piere in the widget gallery.
- Choose a widget type (Net Worth, Recent Transactions, Budget, Time & Date, or Photo).
- Swipe to select a size, then tap Add Widget.
- Drag it where you want it and tap Done.
On Android #
- Long-press an empty area on your home screen.
- Tap Widgets (or “Add widget” depending on your device).
- Search for or scroll to find Piere.
- Choose a widget type and drag it onto your home screen.
- For the Photo widget, a photo selection screen will open — pick your favorite penguin!
Activating Your Widgets #
Widgets activate automatically once you are logged in to the Piere app. If you see Log in to your Piere app to activate, simply open the app and log in — your widgets will start showing data within a few seconds.
If you are on a free plan and see Upgrade your Piere subscription to unlock this widget, upgrade to a paid plan from Profile → Manage Subscription to unlock the Net Worth, Transactions, and Budget widgets.
Reviewing Transactions from a Widget #
The Recent Transactions widget lets you mark transactions as reviewed without opening the app:
- Look for the circle icon on the right side of each transaction row.
- Tap it to mark the transaction as reviewed — a checkmark will appear immediately.
- The next time you open Piere, the review will sync automatically.
A few things to know:
- Transactions shown at 50% opacity are pending (not yet cleared) and cannot be reviewed yet.
- Once a transaction is marked reviewed, it cannot be un-reviewed from the widget — open the app to make changes.
- On Android, the review syncs to your account the next time you open the app.
Keeping Widgets Up to Date #
- When you open the app: Your widget data updates automatically every time you use Piere.
- In the background: On iPhone, widgets refresh every ~2 hours automatically. On Android, widgets refresh periodically in the background (timing may vary by device and battery settings).
If your widget looks out of date, open the Piere app — it will sync and your widgets will refresh within seconds.
Frequently Asked Questions #
Why is my widget showing old data? #
Open the Piere app. This triggers an immediate sync and your widgets will update right away. If the issue persists, try removing and re-adding the widget.
Can I change the photo on my Photo widget? #
Your widget will cycle through various photos throughout the day.
My widgets still show data after I logged out — is that normal? #
Yes, this is intentional. Widgets preserve your last known data after logout so you are not left with a blank screen. You can refresh the data by opening your Piere app if you don’t want to wait for the automatic refresh.
Why does the Net Worth widget show $0? #
This can happen if the widget was added before your account data loaded. Open the Piere app and navigate to the Net Worth screen — this will push your data to the widget and it will update within a few seconds.
Why is my Budget widget showing $0? #
Budget data loads when you visit the Budget tab in the app. Open Piere, tap the Budget tab, and your Budget widget will update automatically.
